I spent roughly a month preparing for Google Cloud’s Professional Agentic Architect certification and used Google’s official learning path as part of that preparation. I went through the Pearson exam and the separate practical labs and earned the professional certification.

For someone considering the same goal, the most useful question is how to organize preparation around the skills being assessed. A certificate is a clear destination, but choosing what to study and how to check your understanding needs a workable plan.

This account keeps my personal details private. It also separates my own preparation background from the study approach I recommend to other candidates.

Give yourself a clear starting point

The official Google Skills learning path gives candidates a place to start. It was one of the resources I used. For your own preparation, pair it with the current exam guide so that a convenient sequence of lessons does not become your only definition of the syllabus.

A simple planning sheet is enough. List the relevant topics, note your confidence in each, and identify what evidence would convince you that you understand them. “I watched a lesson” is different from “I can explain the decision without looking at the lesson.”

Keep this sheet short enough to revisit. A plan that takes longer to maintain than to use quickly becomes another unfinished project.

Treat a month as a planning window

My preparation took approximately a month. That is background, not a promise that another person will need the same time.

If you want a four-week structure, one reasonable approach is to begin with a review of your existing knowledge, spend the middle weeks on study and practice, and reserve the final part for reviewing gaps. Adapt that outline to your experience and the time you can genuinely protect.

Avoid scheduling every available hour. Leave space for a concept that needs more attention than expected. A smaller plan you can follow is more useful than an impressive timetable that assumes every day goes perfectly.

Check explanations, not just answers

When reviewing a practice scenario, write down why your preferred answer fits. Then explain why the alternatives do not. This exposes a gap that a correct guess can otherwise hide.

You can apply the same method without a formal question bank. Take an example from training, change one constraint, and consider whether your original decision still makes sense. The goal is to make the reasoning visible enough to inspect.

These are preparation suggestions for readers; they are not claims about the contents of my actual exam.

Understand what completing the certification means

Google distinguishes the professional certification assessment from completing its preparation learning path. The professional credential requires the proctored exam and a separate set of hands-on labs. Read the current official requirements before planning your attempt.

Keeping those milestones separate helps you understand what a course, a practice assessment, and an official credential each provide.

An optional practice resource

I am also the creator of the independent Professional Agentic Architect practice-test resource linked here. It includes three practice tests with 240 questions and answer explanations.

It is a resource for checking understanding alongside official learning material. It does not replace Google’s assessment or guarantee a pass. Choose study tools that help you explain decisions clearly, then use the results to decide what to review next.
